Unconnection

We are all living in the most technologically connected yet unconnected generation ever.

With one button you an instantly be connected with someone continents apart and with one button you can reach millions. Sounds too good to be true?

I mean it is true. But does that equate to satisfaction? Does that equate to true connection? Are we emotionally connected or are we just technologically, dare I say, superficially connected?

And sadly, the answer might just be the latter.

In a short span of a decade we went from the promise of digital connection to a world where we live digitally isolated in our own voids. A some 1% of the billions on "social" media publish content, leaving the majority to be passive consumers of content they didn't even choose to see.

Now, this isn't completely terrible... I do doom scroll as well. When your feed hits on that stressful wed night or when you're laughing sending reels to friends, it is fun. So no, the problem isn't in the fact that this exists, no, it lies in the fact that a complementary option doesn't exist.

You can find endless content on TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and Youtube, but where can you share something without overthinking? Where can you build your world, not hat the algorithm or trends dictate? Where can you see the people you love or just see strangers who have the same interests as you? Where can you be a part of a community, not a passive scroller of a void?

Until now the answer was simply nowhere.

The oldest, most natural, concept in the human existence is community, and we are witnessing it being taken away for the sake of entertainment.

Oneblvd was built over the last 3 years to give this and more, not just to a select few, but to anyone. Oneblvd is not a replacement for your real life, your real friends, or your real interests. No. It is a way to empower it. To help you find a new cafe to go work at, music that will give you goosebumps, or people who have the same fashion taste as you. Or simply, a way to reach your friends without being overpowered by algorithmically pushed ads. It's in your hands to make of it what you want, from a public journal to a personal scrapbook.

There is no one persona or identity you need create; there is a blvd for everything.
